He spent 26 years in corporate roles at major Australian companies including Boral and numerous subsidiaries of leading business units, managing P&L responsibility, and developing high-performance teams. This corporate experience provided deep knowledge of strategy, operations, and organizational behaviour.
But Brett didn't stop there. In 2005, he started his own Perth business in commercial construction—building it from scratch, dealing with all the challenges that come with SME ownership: finding customers, managing cashflow, hiring and firing staff, dealing with difficult situations, and figuring out what actually works versus what sounds good in theory. After 17 years of growth, he successfully sold that business in 2022.
